Maybe the most disappointing thing to occur in the last 12 months is Kevin missing All-State last year. A good lesson(?) for him; you can’t just waltz in and think you are going to make it.
So, this year, he did approach it a lot more seriously. And after the audition he comes home and reports, unhappily, that it didn’t go as well as he had hoped. While his director said he really nailed the sight reading, but Kevin wasn’t happy with his mistakes on the scales.
When the email came out last night that the audition results were posted, I found my heart thumping a bit as I hit the link and started to review the results….
Whew! Not sure what they are performing yet; looking forward to it though. Wonder if either of the two basses will ever audition (Cpher? 5% chance. Matthew? a little more optimistic that he’ll at least try out).
