Sixth grade goes well; not too many hiccups assignment-wise and most subjects seem to be where they need to be. Has three(!) book reports due in six weeks, each book has to be 125-pages. Turned the first one in today; finished the book (Matilda by Roald Dahl) in plenty of time and it wasn’t a big rush and panic at the end. I was pretty happy with his rough draft of his three paragraphs…..can really see a big difference in his writing. Computer writing is best; spelling is still a very ugly thing……
Very happy to be at Kinawa now with all of the other fifth graders; Mom and Dad knew that, no matter how good of friends he was with some of his lunch buddies at BWoods he would be very quickly switching over to eating and hanging out with his sports buddies….and that’s occurred. Really REALLY happy with the new lunch menu….we had to have a talk after the first two weeks went like this:
Nachos, nachos, nachos, nachos, nachos, nachos, nachos, nachos, nachos, nachos, nachos, nachos….
Matthew is also doing well academically; had a bad start where somehow he missed an assignment (or didn’t turn it in) but that helped us to realize his teachers (and Cpher’s) have the homework assignments online before the bus arrives, so, it is easy enough to print out and make sure everyone is on the same page.
