A down day between our two big Maui days…..woke up late (ok, later) had some pool time, had some angst about boys being content watching tv and playing on the ipods. Finally headed out around lunch time to watch the surfers at Honolua bay.
The highlight of the trip to Honolua Bay was the short hike down to the bay to check out how accessible it would be for snorkeling later on in the trip. The answer was yes, it is very accessible and well, maybe not, because with the high surf on the west shores there are some serious currents that give Mom and Dad some pause about Fric and Frac in the water.
But it was a nice hike with a lot of shade and interesting trees
and the obligatory word carving vendor at the parking lot….
Who offered to carve names into idols and things that were purchased…
So Cpher wanted this tiki…which is supposed to ward off ‘negativity’. We will surely be telling him to get this tiki at some point (we joked when we were getting it that he should have it nearby when he does homework!)
Matthew got a walking stick….will take better pictures of this later.
Dinner was a night out in Lahaina; this is waiting for dinner to be served at Crazy Cool Cat Café. Cpher is enjoying a chocolate shake (a little bit confused by the metal cup next to him when the server arrived….“What’s this?”)
But he thought it was yummy. Kevin wasn’t as thrilled with his chocolate shake with Reeses peanut butter chunks and peanut butter sauce. Too much peanut butter.
Took this picture of Kevin and the Harpooner while we waited for Mom, Fric, and Frac to finish some t-shirt shopping.
Ended the night here, With the best Hawaiian Shaved Ice. Ever.
