We like this new season…with Kevin as the Captain, you see and hear him a lot more often.

What I didn’t know was that they switched how they tape things…the audience is on screen a lot now. So, while I am happy that I was rocking the Pirates hat, I’ll be dressing up a bit more for future tapings….
The Quick Ten: First answer of the year…is wrong. Garfield instead of McKinley. But he ends up getting two of them; knows that Putnam County thingie is a spelling bee (he went to that musical and was on-stage for it!) and knows Wal-Mart Land is Arkansas 70-30
Toss-Ups Part One: The team did not do well on toss-ups and bonuses here. Kevin buzzes in early and gets the Hittite Empire. 90-80
Pop Quiz One: Answers start with p-e-a. Kevin doesn’t know that bells peal…but neither does Sabrina. Same with the Peabody Awards. Kevin pulls out peasant to get some points out of this. 150-110.
Toss-Ups Part Two: Kevin buzzes in and names Australia to move to the bonus…which is SI units in physics…so I know we are about to clean up on in this category (everyone up there but Kevin are serious math-science geeks). 230-110
Toss-Ups Part Three: No Kevin answers here, although I get the sense he knew the bonus answers they successfully answered (books of the bible, civil war generals). 290-130
Pop Quiz Two: Answers start with z-i. Sabrina gets zither. Kevin gets Zimmerman. Sabrina gets zip-lock. 330-190. Not a good sequence for the team here….
Toss-Ups Part Four: No Kevin answers again (knew Plato way before those guys!). Bonus points are hard to come by again for the team. 380-200.
Lightning Round: Man, they just killed Portland here. Kevin knows Eli Whitney is the cotton gin guy; knows that Bavaria is the largest state in Germany….and seemed obvious he knew a lot more but just didn’t buzz in fast enough. 470-190 final.
