At some point during the animal visit I thought, after looking in the small viewfinder that the waterproof camera wasn’t taking high quality pictures. So, I pulled out the Iphone and used that the rest of the way.
Not less than a day later I noticed that the Iphone wasn’t charging….it died Friday and I didn’t get it back until we arrived home on Tuesday. One charge-port replacement later (love that little I-repair shop at the mall!) and I was back in business. I have a 4S; I have patiently waited for the Iphone 6 to show up…hopefully it will be in September as rumored.
Anyway, onto the pictures.
The camera switch occurred roughly in the transition between monkey enclosures and parrot enclosures. So this post is mostly for the birds.
And lemurs. These two were sleeping inside a log before the guide came in and banged and banged and banged on the hollow log to get them out. They were sleepy, and slow, but pretty cute nonetheless.
Not as many Matthew pictures as Cpher pictures…think that has something to do with the GoPro antics of the junior brother….he was always last to get the close-up encounters.
I think a couple of these bird photos are some of the best photos I’ve seen of Suzanne in a while. The red parrots have some pretty sharp claws….at one point I had one on my head an one on my shoulder and can verify that the one on the head was constantly looking for a little more grip with the claws…..it didn’t really hurt but wasn’t particularly fun either.
You can only see the toucans from outside the cage…..
A picture of the beach where we swam…..
Two pictures from the top of one of the ‘mountains’ on the island. That is not our cruise ship in the distance….
This is our ship. You can actually see our aft-wrap from here…we are on the back corner closest to us and the deck right below the big shaded windows at the top.
The last of the GoPro fails for the trip occurred here…..I was all set up to do the time-lapse thing as we left port (and it would have been the prettiest sail away of the trip) and somehow double-hit the record button….so I didn’t get anything. Sigh.
Speaking of time-lapse video….I didn’t post the video as we sailed away from Cozumel. You can click below if you want to see that.
