This soccer tournament is a new one for us this year; it is local…no hotels, just down the road in Brighton
Game 1: Won 3-1 against Concordia
Concordia is a team from near Cleveland that plays in the Midwest Regional League, supposedly one division above us. They weren’t good….we should have scored more.
After playing a lot of attacking center mid in the previous eight to ten games Matthew has now drifted back in the formation to play more holding center mid.
The plan was to wear blue top, white shorts, blue socks….and then other team showed up in blue. So we had to switch. A theme for this weekend….every game we had to switch from what he had planned.
Matthew needs to do more of this; make runs off of the ball….
He was credited with an assist by our official scorer BUT I didn’t have video evidence to overturn it. He took a shot, it deflected off of the other team, and our kid scored off of it. Shouldn’t be an assist, but, hey, he’s my kid, I’m not changing it.
Game 2: Beat MI Revolution Eagles 3-1
No pictures here. Not really much to say here; we again dominated the whole game and they got their goal off a really strange call by the ref and a nice free kick.
