End-of-Season Wrap Up

Football:  The season ended in Grand Ledge 2 weeks ago, the Chieftains finished off the undefeated season with a 30-0 win; the fifth win where the mercy rules were put into effect.

This game was the first game that we had a dead conflict with soccer (the first game of the playoffs, discussed below).  While I think Matthew would have chosen football (not think, know…he was pretty vocal about it!), he was forced by his parents to go with the preseason plan of soccer winning all of these conflicts.

No pictures to report and it seems unlikely that I’ll find any at this point.  Kevin took video, but, he set up so low in the stands it’s hard to watch, and, well, there’s not a lot of Cpher highlights to report.  Suzanne texted that he seemed kind of out of it during the game; when I watched the tape later the reason why was pretty apparent….he was held, on every play, sometimes a little, most times a lot.  Hard to be a factor when that happens.

Soccer:   No pictures here as well (not sure if any of the other parents took any…) and no video since the camera was in Grand Ledge.  Boys go out in the 1st round of the playoffs losing 2-1.  Matthew probably garnered a great deal of blame for the first goal, but, he also created our only goal by cutting off a pass and centering it to our guy right in front of the goal.  The other team controlled large portions of the game and probably deserved to win, but, I think our boys played a lot better these last two games and hope that is a positive sign for the Spring.
