The Annual Charting of Progress

For all of the charts I’ve recorded over the last eight years what I do not have is any thing that shows Kevin’s growth from 7th grade through 9th grade.  The doctor’s office has said they could dig it out but those dates are before they went fully digital.

Because I’d really love to see those measurements relative to Matthew at this point.

Anyway…

The doctor seems to think that the dip is just a sign that Matthew is getting ready to grow.  I think it might be more of a trend that Matthew isn’t going to get the Kevin-size height that we always thought he would get

This chart would look a lot different if we could put a dot in the middle between the last two readings.  Because Matthew lost a lot of weight during cross-country, and then gained it all back (and more), and the lost weight to get to here.

For all that, he is in the same spot as last year….probably could stand to lose a few pounds.  Of course, any kind of height gain without a jump in weight would work out also.  That would be the Cpher approach…..

Because Cpher just grows and grows and grows.  Doctor thinks he easily has 2 to 4 more inches in him.  Still no real sign of his voice dropping.

Here’s the biggest change.  A pronounced move to the right on this chart…

…means a huge shift in his BMI.  And it shows, everyone who sees Cpher playing sports or who hasn’t seen him in a long time comments on how he looks….big, tall, not lanky, but he is broad, long arms and legs.

He’s also been pretty pleased with himself that he has finally dropped below a 8 minute mile.  Which, isn’t the fastest time around but I think is a pretty good measure for a kid his size.  It certainly makes him one of the 3 or 4 fastest lineman at the mile at high school.
