Whew!

Figured I might as well get some words on electronic paper while I'm enjoying the post-game features and interviews.

Saturday:  Basketball went well; Christopher had a steal (and was whistled...apparently you're allowed to intercept passes but not take the ball from other players) played some good defense (there were two occasions where the other team's player dribbled by one guy and watched Christopher just step out and be a roadblock) and generally had a good time.  Wish he'd be more positive about playing before we get there though.

Went out to Max & Erma's for Christopher's birthday dinner.  Kevin and Christopher have both discovered they like tortilla soup; Kevin ordered a fettucini chicken dish...did a good job.  Christopher demolished his slice of triple chocolate cake.

Sunday:  Special mentioned must be made thanking by wonderful wife for wearing the Ben Steeler jersey all day today.  Out in public, everywhere.  Simply awesome.  She's mentioned she's breaking out in hives......

Kevin and Suzanne headed out early for the Super Bowl 5K.

Kevin proudly wore the Terrible Towel during the race but it must have acted as an anchor; he finished in 26 minutes and that's 4 minutes slower than his time in the fall.  Not sure what happened; I think Kevin needs to really focus on a pre-race routine....

Boys had a soccer game; lost 7-3.  Christopher had the final goal of the game on a nice dribble and shot.  Still having issues with Matthew, and am starting to think that I may need to stop coaching him sooner than later.  That's too bad since I just found out that I can move him up to the 2nd grade outdoor team since we're losing a player....hopefully Matthew and I can work out our 'issues'.   Mom brought black and gold cupcakes for the boys as a snack after the game.

Televised Sports:  Had a nice start to the day on TV by coming home and watching Penn State upset Michigan State in basketball.

Settled in for a whole bunch of pre-game.   And enjoyed a thrilling Super Bowl.  Had Matthew come down from bed with about 90 seconds to go in the game to say he was sad that it didn't look good for the Steelers, so, he got to enjoy the exciting end of the game.  My heart can't take too many more games like that.
