(Hmmmm…I was looking in my ‘draft folder” and there are more than a few posts sitting there….so, even though they are out of order I figure I might as well try and push them out onto the internet)
With people from all over the world (and Warren, Ohio) in town, the world premiere of Anything Goes went off last Saturday without a hitch. I am videotaping Friday’s performance, so, maybe by the end of the weekend the musical will start appearing online, but, until then, I’ve grabbed these pictures that were taken during one of the last dress rehearsals.
Clearly, this picture is way before even dress rehearsal…and I’m not sure what’s up here. Will ask to have Kevin. I’ll guess that the woman is the choreographer and they are learning their moves.
If you’re going to come to the show to see Kevin, here’s some advice. Have dessert. Because Kevin really doesn’t show up on stage much in the first act, he’s not even a sailor there, he is only a member of the ship’s crew. He totes luggage around; he sings, he’s in the background. Have the pie; you’ll be glad you did!
In the second act though, he changes his shirt and joins the sailors. Kevin tells us he had been ‘promoted’ because he’s one of the better male dancers (he’s been asked by the choreographer to help out at a studio for their recital in a few weeks)
So he’s a sinner here….and the sailors are getting some instruction
before pairing off with some of the Angels….you can see Kevin here on the left
