Foreshadowing: Christopher was pretty happy when I picked the boys up from school yesterday; he finally completed 5 cards and received his mileage club water bottle (that’s 20 miles). Matthew is about to finish his 7th card, if you’re curious.
Soccer: Drive down to Leslie (25 minutes south) to play in the cold rain. Guess my message about aggressiveness paid off (and it helped that the opposition wasn’t that good); we walloped them 11 to zip. Matthew scored twice, Christopher scored twice, and at least half the team had a goal. 90% of the game played in the other team’s end….a good way to end the season!
Right before the game starts the boys start complaining that they can’t find their much-prized mileage club bottles. Can’t really help them search at that point, figure they’ll turn up during the game (the boys have been known to drop them on the ground in strange places). They never turn up; have to believe it, but just can’t believe it, that they were stolen. Should’ve kept throttling the other team, instead of letting up like we did in the fourth quarter!
