Vacation Day 4 – Travel and Bellagio

Woke up at Casa de Lloyd Saturday morning, had breakfast, and drove with Amy and Lloyd to Newark to fly west to Las Vegas.  Had to stop by Jersey City first and drop Lloyd off with his U-Haul (The Kappeler’s were moving some of their stuff to Carlisle this weekend).  Alas, no truck where it was supposed to be (although the gentleman asleep on the sidewalk at the Exxon station was a treat) and we continued to Newark to catch our flight.

Snapped this shot flying west to Minneapolis; you’re looking south and that’s Lake St. Clair on the left.  You can see the runways for Selfridge down there

We stayed at the Bellagio on Saturday night; just one night here before moving over to the Palazzo.  We paid extra for the fountain view room; these two pictures are the views from the room (guess I could have pano’d it, but, didn’t.  There are more than enough panorama pictures coming later on the trip.

We had dinner at our usual Las Vegas steak dinner joint; Mon Ami Gabi (across the street at the Paris casino).  Walked back over to the Bellagio after dinner and took a side trip over to the new City Center development and Aria Casino and hotel.  We thought that the tram ride to the Bellagio from Aria was pretty neat, looking out the window of the tram at Aria was very futuristic, the shades of the tram combined with the lighting of the hotel was very cool.

Anyway, we obviously walked back by the Bellagio conservatory again and snapped some pictures; the one above is a panorama (just two photos though)

You can tell that the lighting switches colors over time; I actually think the green pictures were taken first and the blue ones came later in our visit.

And here are some pictures of the fountain show; I have some video of this and will upload that soon enough.  Shows every 15 minutes until midnight.

Was a long day, stayed up ‘til past midnight to see the shows and then called it an evening.

Gambling tally:  I’m getting to this late, but, I think the night ended with Suzanne up about $80 dollars and me down about $60.
