I took pictures of the boys in uniform before the game and another parent took some sweet in-game photos; here they are. The last two in-game photos are of Matthew when he was doing a corner kick.
Christopher’s only seen once in the in-game shots (even then, his shot is in warm-ups); he spent the whole game, when he was in, on defense. Christopher was very ‘unhappy’ about this…the quote is exact from him after the game as we were talking about. The team played like crap, nobody was aggressive and the field was smaller than we were used to; a lot to work on in practice. Told Christopher (and have since confirmed with the other coach) that the only reason he played the whole reason on defense was that he was the only boy on the team the coach trusted to play defense right (that, and of course, he’s a major physical impediment if you’re dribbling in towards our goal). This explanation isn’t much solace to the big guy……..he wants some time up front!
Two games this coming week, Thursday and Saturday. Looking for better results.
