The plan for the morning was to head out to Hoover Dam…..
A pano…I posted this (or another picture of Hoover Dam) on facebook and described it as “Engineer Porn”…..because really, this is where’s it at.
Haven’t been here in a long time….the highway, US 93, the last time we came this way, snaked through the canyon and you crossed from Nevada into Arizona as you drove across the top of the dam. Now, there is this brand spanking new bypass. We’re on this huge bridge, which has a sidewalk and visitors center and the best view of the dam that you are ever going to get….
This is one of the maybe 20 to 25 different ‘posters’ that are on the bridge and along the path up to the bridge from the parking lot. I read them all….the rest of the family had to wait for me for about 10 minutes in the car while I took my time walking down…..
The dam…..just amazing to sit there and think of the effort to build it…
