Turns out the Adrian paper did a great job covering the BYISO visit…..
“The halls of Adrian High School rang with the sounds of strings on Wednesday as 44 local students in grades 7-12 joined members of the Blue Lake International String Orchestra for a day of intensive workshops.
The Blue Lake ensemble, a group of students from Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in western Michigan, toured France and Germany earlier this summer. An Adrian High School bass player, Ian McNally, was among their number.
The Blue Lake performers and local students, most of them from Adrian and Tecumseh, took part in a series of workshops and rehearsals before a concert Wednesday night in the AHS performing arts center. The Blue Lake group performed pieces by Felix Mendelssohn, Edvard Grieg, Fritz Kreisler, Scott Joplin and Michigan composer Dan Kovats before the local students joined them on stage for two final numbers: “Millionaire’s Hoedown,” a jaunty piece by Herman Clebanoff, and “Lion City,” written in 2009 by American composer Soon Hee Newbold.”
they also captured this video with interviews of the Adrian kids that participated in the clinics….that video is notable for Kevin appearing at the 1:04 mark and looking as bored as bored could be for several seconds….
