Game 4: Beat a team of Holt freshman 9-2. As I type this, I have absolutely no idea what happened in this game other than that we killed them. Let me watch the highlights.
Oh yeah….Henry and buddy Sam provided some intriguing color commentary…Matthew had two of the first three goals, had two assists, and had a nice save on his turn at goal when he was left out to dry by the defense but the rebound dribbled in. And the Holt goalie did a really good job to just keep that game at 9-2.

Game 5: The facility has switched the schedule around a little bit; we now play Corn FC two more times. Good for us, because we don’t have to hold back during games as we blast our opponents.
I was surprised to hear the Mom of one of Corn’s players (their best kid, the one who scored six goals against us) lament the change in schedule change; she apparently wants to watch them destroy these teams 14-1 or whatever it is. (insert sound of big heavy sigh here)
So anyway, this is the big rematch; the third game will be different for reasons I’ll go into later. First time out we rotated everyone on defense; this time I’m only playing the kids I think can stand up to the big forward….and it goes better, he only scored 3, and one of those was a funny deflection.
But we are losing 4-2 at the half; score the next four to make it 6-4 us; give up two more and then with 20 seconds left get the game winner, 7-6 us. No Matthew goals…he was busy on defense (and did fairly well….did get beat badly once and was helpless on a 3 on 2 that the other team executed perfectly (passed the ball to Matthew’s guy when he was forced to come over and help on the extra guy).
