Winter Vacation 2014 – Grand Turk

First stop of the cruise was Grand Turk.  Arrived early in the morning; we are out of here by 2 pm

(always pretty as we pull in….getting to see how each shoreline looks)

(an added benefit this trip is the rainbow!)

(Beach Pano – the ship is as close to the beach here as it is in any port we have ever stopped in.  We are waiting to go out on our excursion on one of these boats in front of us)

(Three stops:  Dad, stupidly, seems to have erased all of the GoPro pictures so there will be no fish pictures in this post.  The first stop had some really nice fish and Matthew did get a great picture of a nurse shark underneath a reef.  The second stop was more for the experience of being at ‘the wall’….the topography drops off away from Grand Turk very quickly.. you go from being in 30 feet of water to over 2000 feet so we did some snorkeling out there)

(the third stop was at Gibb Cay….there are stingrays around here and we saw a few.  Kevin swam over to Gibb Cay there and climbed up to the top before we had to leave.  Matthew and Christopher had some fun jumping off of the boat)

(came back over to Grand Turk at the end and had lunch here at Jack’s Shack.  Home of some delicious Jerk Chicken and Topher, the Golden Doodle who swims in the ocean.  Thought we had some pictures of Topher somewhere but not on Suzanne and my phones…..strange.  Need to ping Kevin about this…)
